Re: Your July 2 edition
Dear Editor:
For over 40 years, I remain a loyal seasonal reader of the Boothbay Register. Your great coverage of this great community is a true asset to us all.
A few comments on your July 2 newspaper:
Have a begin with a Joe’s Journal column, Ms. P fesses up. Joe, should I be getting concerned on who is the dummy and who is the ventriloquist? Seems more than a few “conversations” being highlighted in your Joe’s Journal columns with Ms. P on Route 27.
All I ask is that you keep Ms. P as apolitical as possible and avoid pin prick shot at Trump and the GOP. I know we all get lonely Joe, but several columns talking to the mannequin Ms. P.? Truth be told, it’s a good read!
Compliments to the Boothbay Register in balancing Letters to the Editor in the July 2 issue. Joe Scorcia opinion and his polar opposite, Bill Hammond. Question: When is a letter by Trump detractor Bill Hammond not published in your paper?
Point of concern: Front page, July 2: Southport residents seek answers about proposed Hendricks Head Beach project by Bill Pearson. Bill writes: “ … In response, town officials decided to seek federal assistance regarding future climate change-related storms …”
Subtle but unfair to say with certainty if “climate change-related,” with climate change a disputed science. Subjecting “climate change” as a fact of the cause (seawall damage) is injecting opinion over fact.
I remain a loyal reader.
