Dear Editor:
In his column, “A real mess,” Ramblings from an old scribbler, the author casually forgives Graham Platner’s Nazi tattoo as “stupid kid’s stuff.” I can only presume the old scribbler doesn’t fully understand how long Platner sported the hateful symbol, its meaning to him, and, perhaps more egregiously, its meaning to Jews everywhere.
He, and the Boothbay Register, should apologize for this perpetuation of anti-Semitic signs and symbols as being OK in any way, shape or form.
