As I walked along the pumpkin patch 

Searching for the perfect one to snatch 

All the rows filled with orange everywhere 

Shapes and sizes I could not help but stare 

At this perfect one I saw in the patch from afar 

That would make the greatest jack-o-lantern ha-ha 

As I slowly approached, I knew it was the one 

Carving this pumpkin would be so much fun 

It reminded me of the search to find that perfect tree 

A different time of season still the same feeling of glee 

It might not be the “great pumpkin” that Linus waited to see 

When decorated and lit up it will be great for me 

On the night when visitors come knocking at the door 

I hope they find my pumpkin something to adore
