Poetry reading will celebrate world languages
April is National Poetry Month and you’re invited to celebrate at Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library. Join us at the library for Poetry in Verse, a night of international poetry on Wednesday, April 8 at 5:30. Come hear poetry and short prose read aloud in languages from around the world. Or, if you’d like to take the stage, prepare a poem of your choice to perform.
This all-ages poetry reading is an opportunity to brush up on that language you studied in high school or show off your native tongue. Maybe you’ll even come away inspired to learn a new language. Come celebrate the wealth of languages spoken around the community!
We’ll be joined by members of the library’s German Conversation Group, who have prepared poems they will read “auf Deutsch.” The German Conversation Group meets regularly at the library on the second Wednesday of the month at 5:30.
If you’re interested in reading a poem, email Bethany at tech@bbhlibrary.org to add your name to the reader list.
