Pet Sounds Live: The music of The Beach Boys at The Waldo
The Waldo is excited to have Pet Sounds Live: The Music of The Beach Boys on May 16 at 7:30 p.m.
In 1966, The Beach Boys were the biggest rock and roll band in America and at the height of their popularity, racking up a string of top 20 hits rivaled only by The Beatles.
In an effort to compete with the sounds coming from the British Invasion, Brian Wilson, the creative visionary behind The Beach Boys' most memorable records, was looking to move beyond the band's sunny surfer image and take the music in a more sophisticated direction producing an album unlike anything they'd done before. The resulting album, "Pet Sounds" ultimately became known as a revolutionary record that forever changed the world of popular music from the inside out in a way no other record had before.
Pet Sounds Live transports you back in time inside the studio and behind the glass as you experience the creation of some of the greatest, most beloved music in rock and roll history performed right before your eyes and ears. This is far more than a tribute and much more than just a band. Pet Sounds Live is a rock and roll story come to life on stage like no other show before.
In addition to the complete album, the show also features many other Beach Boys classics, such as "California Girls," "Don't Worry, Baby," and the legendary pocket symphony, "Good Vibrations," among others.
Experience the magic of Pet Sounds through live music, narration and visual multi-media with fascinating historical facts all through the lens of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys' masterpiece, Pet Sounds on May 16 at The Waldo.
