Pemaquid Chapter, NSDAR
New chapter officers were officially installed on Oct. 9 and will be serving a three-year term: Audrey Miller - regent, Barbara Belknap - first vice regent (resigned), Valerie Trentin - second vice regent, Jessica Tukey- chaplain, Linda Wood - treasurer, Valerie Trentin - recording secretary, Susann Hochstein - corresponding secretary, Jessica Tukey - registrar, Nancy Chick - historian, and Monica Tan - librarian.
Those in attendance unanimously endorsed the new Chapter logo. We are happy to report that all four high schools in Lincoln County have selected their 2026 DAR Good Citizens. Two students will be writing essays for the statewide competition.
The November Pemaquid Chapter meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 36, 25 Industrial Park Road, Boothbay.The rogram titled,“Lincoln County and the American Revolution: The Bowman House and the Pownalborough Court House” will bepresented by Linda Wood and Audrey Miller followed by social time and a potluck lunch from 12:30 to 1:30. Please let Regent Miller know if you will be attending and what food you will bring to share. The official meeting will be no longer than one hour and will start on time. Please plan accordingly. This program is the beginning of a five-month project highlighting Lincoln County residents and their contributions to the American Revolution. Melba Gunnison, American History chairwoman, is leading this chapter project in celebration of America 250 on July 4, 2026.
