Nurses’ role in shaping patient experience discussed at Lincoln Theater May 21
MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital will host a free community presentation, “The Power of Dignity: How Nurses Shape What Matters Most,” on Thursday, May 21 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Theater, 2 Theater Street, Damariscotta.
Led by nurse practitioner and educator Jordan Porter, DNP, the presentation will explore how dignity shapes the patient experience and why it remains central to compassionate, high-quality care. Drawing from clinical practice, the neuroscience of trauma and experience teaching nursing students, Porter will highlight the relational skills at the heart of nursing, including building trust, navigating tension and creating meaningful connections.
The presentation will include examples from addiction medicine, rural health care and dignity-centered approaches for older adults, emphasizing the role dignity plays in healing, trust and human connection in health care.
The event is free and open to the public.
Please RSVP by May 15 by emailing LH_Nursing_Admin@mainehealth.org.
