MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital offers free January Diabetes Support Group
MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital invites individuals living with diabetes and their families to attend its free Diabetes Support Group meeting on Thursday, Jan. 22, from 1 to 2 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Webster Van Winkle Building, 79 Schooner St., Damariscotta, with an option to attend virtually via Zoom.
The January session will feature Meredith Spratt, healthy living program manager and referrals specialist at the Central Lincoln County YMCA. Spratt will discuss current and upcoming healthy living programs, including Healthy Weight and Your Child, the Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program, Walk WithEase and the Diabetes Prevention Program. She will also share information about monthly nutrition seminars and follow-up cooking classes that complement each topic.
The Diabetes Support Group is free and open to people living with diabetes and their families and offers a supportive space to connect, share experiences and learn practical strategies for managing diabetes. MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital also offers diabetes education and medical nutrition services at its campuses in Damariscotta and Boothbay Harbor.
