Lobster Jam basketball tourney July 24-26
The Boothbay Region High School girls basketball team will be hosting nine other teams for the annual Lobster Jam tournament at BRHS and Boothbay Region Elementary School on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 24, 25 and 26.
Daily admission is $5 per person.
The tournament gets underway Friday afternoon, with Freeport and Spruce Mountain facing off at BRHS at noon.
The Lady Seahawks will be playing Medomak in the second game at BRHS at approximately 1:15 p.m.
The other teams competing include the AAU team Maine Premier, Oceanside, Lincoln Academy, Westbrook, Winthrop and Oak Hill.
The teams have been divided into two pools and will play on the two courts throughout the tournament.
On Saturday, from 3 to 4 p.m., there will be a skills competition and a 3-point shooting contest.
The quarterfinals, semifinals and final will be played at BRHS on Sunday beginning at 8:30 a.m., with the championship slated for 4:15 p.m.
Player of the game awards will be handed out and a concession stand will be available, with $10 lobster rolls while they last.
All fundraising proceeds support the Lady Seahawks basketball program.
