The Boothbay 36ers built a 2-0 lead July 20 versus the Central Maine Hurricanes scoring runs in the first and third innings in a state American Legion baseball tournament play-in game, but it wasn't enough. Central Maine scored twice in the third and sixth innings to defeat Boothbay, 4-3, at Colby College to advance in the state tournament. 

Boothbay finished the season with a 5-13 record. Central Maine improves to 9-10, and played No. 1 seed Hampden, July 21, in the state tournament.

The 36ers scored three runs on three hits and were aided by one Central Maine error. Two hits were for extra bases. Sam Markowitz doubled and Oscar Gallant tripled and singled. All three of Boothbay's runs were earned as Hurricane pitching allowed nine walks and struck out  one 36er batter.

For Boothbay, Liam Jacobs pitched 4.2 innings allowing two earned runs on four hits, walked five and struck out 12. Devin Bendix pitched one-third of an inning allowing two runs on no hits, walking two and striking out one. Sam Wissman pitched one-third of an inning allowing no runs or hits and walking two. Casey Phelps recorded the last two outs without giving up any hits or runs. Boothbay only committed one error.
