Free tide pool adventures for families April 22
The Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library (BHML) and Boothbay Sea and Science Center (BSSC) are bringing back the popular “Tide Pool Adventures” for a second year on Wednesday, April 22from 10a.m. to noon.
This free Spring Break program invites families to explore the local coastline and engage in maritime-themed activities.
The event will be held at the Boothbay Sea and Science Center’s campus at 12 Carter Road, East Boothbay. Designed for children of all ages, participants will explore tide pools, listen to ocean-themed stories, learn knot-tying, and create coastal crafts at various interactive stations.

Flexible attendance: Families are welcome to stay for the full two hours or drop in at any time during the event.

Safety and Gear: All child participants must be accompanied by an adult. Life jackets are required for tidepooling; a limited number of life jackets and boots will be available for loan, but families are strongly encouraged to bring their own.

What to wear: Attendees should wear warm, waterproof clothing suitable for getting wet.

Parking: Visitors should park at the Linekin Bay Public Boat Launch on Murray Hill Road or in the parking lot at the Hodgdon Yachts green shed (71 Murray Hill Road). Volunteers and signs will guide the short walk to the Center.
