Edgecomb Fire Rescue report for May
Edgecomb Fire Rescue responded to 25 calls in May, compared with 14 calls in April. May calls included three fires, 17 medical emergencies (ME), four motor vehicle accidents (MVA), and one other call for trees down blocking road. For the year-to-date, we have responded to 109 calls.
We participated in a joint training exercise with Wiscasset, Westport Island, and Alna fire departments on Search and Rescue, hosted by the Westport fire department. In addition, we had a training session on Traffic Control at accident scenes. Other training included our monthly truck check of all apparatus and equipment. Ongoing training is critical in maintaining our readiness to respond to any call.
Annual Pancake Breakfast
The department’s auxiliary will be hosting its annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, June 27 from 7 to 11 a.m. at the fire station. Come and support your local fire department auxiliary and enjoy some delicious firehouse flapjacks served with maple syrup, breakfast sandwiches, sausage and bacon. Served up hot and fresh by your local volunteer firefighters. Donations will be gladly accepted.
