Edgecomb Fire Rescue February report
February was a busy month for Edgecomb Fire Rescue. We responded to 21 calls in February, compared with 15 calls in January. February calls included 10 medical emergencies (ME), five motor vehicle accidents (MVA), three mutual aid calls for structure fires, and three other calls. For the year-to-date, we have responded to 36 calls.
Several of our firefighters participated in joint training with Westport, Wiscasset, and Alna fire departments on water sources, hosted by the Westport Fire Department. Other training included our monthly truck check of all apparatus and equipment, and we transferred gear from old Engine 5 to new Engine 51. Ongoing training is critical in maintaining our readiness to respond to any call.
We also welcomed Joel Morley as the department’s newest volunteer member. Joel will serve as chaplain and fire support.
