East Nash Grass at the Opera House July 18
East Nash Grass exemplifies the best of what bluegrass has to offer; being named the 2024 International Bluegrass Music Association New Artist of the Year is a testament to that sentiment. Their extraordinary talent as singers, instrumentalists, and composers enhances their unflinching ability to be themselves. This innovative and original group will be bringing their music to the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor on Saturday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m.
A veritable supergroup of award-winners with a lifetime of experience in both new and legacy acts (including Dan Tyminski, Tim O’Brien, Sierra Hull, Rhonda Vincent), the tradition of bluegrass is fundamental to who they are as musicians and performers. The band comprises James Kee on guitar and vocals, Maddie Denton on fiddle and vocals, Cory Walker on banjo, Harry Clark on mandolin and vocals, and Gaven Largent on dobro and vocals.
Irreverent, adventurous, and audacious next-gen performers, East Nash Grass lights a fire under audiences. Their ability to hone this edge was forged in the crucible of a dive bar outside of Nashville, Tennessee that they all but single-handedly put on the (bluegrass) map during their seven-year weekly residency. After hundreds of sets (and countless late-night jams), through personnel changes, industry changes, and a never-ending string of unprecedented world events, East Nash Grass has coalesced into a thrilling ensemble that will raise the rafters at the Opera House.
