Dear Editor:

The Southport Hendricks Hill Museum held a special event on Sunday (Aug. 10) for Donald and Joyce Duncan's contributions to the museum. I was amazed at the size of the place and the incredible things on display. The house alone is fun to imagine a family living there. It is filled with memorabilia of things I remember, having started coming here in 1965.

The "boathouse" around the side of the house is very large having many boats displayed and pictures of Southport in years gone by, including the rocking chair that Roscoe Rand used when visiting Gussie's.

If you have knowledge of years gone by on Southport, you will not be disappointed.
