The Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library (BHML) serves the Boothbay region with free, year-round intergenerational programs, a robust lending library, and a longstanding “third space” for our community, a place where everyone is welcome. The Library is motivated by a vision to create a world where knowledge is free and all people are inspired and empowered.

We invite you to celebrate this vision at Storybook Ball with us, BHML’s third annual fundraising event, themed this year to William Shakespeare’s classic comedy, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Set for Sunday, Aug. 2 at the Boothbay Harbor Country Club, guests can expect an entertaining evening of socializing, dining, theatrics, and philanthropy, all in support of the Library’s mission to provide free program resources, and opportunities for lifelong learning throughout our region.

Last year, over 37,000 people visited the library, and more than 32,000 items were borrowed!

As we honor the unparalleled role of the free public library in our community, guests will revel in a dreamy cocktail hour and delicious dinner, delight in classical entertainment, and bid on an enticing selection of auction packages. Proceeds support everything from new books and snacks for children’s programs to keeping up the grounds and preserving this historic building.

Storybook Ball is more than a fundraiser; it’s an annual celebration of imagination, community, and the transformative power of libraries. This year’s theme invites guests into a world that is playful, magical, and just a little bit mischievous, while supporting services and programs that impact our community every day.
