Greatness comes from the tap
It’s official! The Boothbay region has one of the best-tasting water sources in the nation.
Boothbay Region Water District (BRWD) tied for third place Feb. 4 at National Rural Water Association (NRWA)’s 27th annual Great American Water Taste Test (GAWTT). General Manager Weston Alley and BRWD crew members traveled to Washington, D.C. to represent the district, competing against representatives from 40 other states.
BRWD shares the bronze with Harmony Falls, Utah. Second place went to the City of Colome, South Dakota and Grand Targhee Resort, Wyoming, and first went to the City of Clinton, North Carolina.
As reported in the Register, BRWD qualified for GAWTT after winning Maine’s Best Tasting Water during Maine Rural Water Association’s 45th annual conference in December.
