Adams Pond’s water level is fully recharged after the recent rains, General Manager Weston Alley told Boothbay Region Water District (BRWD) trustees Jan. 13.
“It can't hold any more water. It's level with the top of the dam,” he said. He explained, the district will place a board stop in the dam’s sluiceway, allowing it to fill up another 10 to 12 inches during the springtime. However, for this time of year, the pond is at capacity.
Alley also said the water flow average from the week of Jan. 5 was 287,000 gallons a day; last year’s was 265,000. The county’s drought status improved and is now a D2 severe drought.
In other business, BRWD had to replace a broken tank mixer for about $1,600.
