Thirteen members of the Boothbay Region Elementary School cheerleading team, coached by Lisa Tilton, competed against five other Midcoast schools in the 2026 Busline League Cheering Competition on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at Oceanside High School in Rockland.
Each school performed two routines for the judges. Although BRES did not win a plaque, the routine was nearly faultless.
The winning team was Medomak Middle School in Waldoboro and runner-up was Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast. Presented with the Spirit Award was Great Salt Bay in Damariscotta.
In attendance, besides BRES fans, were several Boothbay Region High School cheerleaders who helped their future members during a recent practice.
