Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund: Supporting our students, strengthening our community, celebrating our 60th anniversary!
In May, the Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund (BRSAF) concluded its 2024-2025 Annual Fund Drive and our Fiscal year. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our donors and the tireless efforts of our volunteer board, BRSAF is proud to approve$503,000 in student grants to be available for the 2025-2026 academic year. This is an increase over last year’s awards of $465,000. We can all be very proud!
Grants were awarded to 57 recipients for the 2025-26 Academic Year: 18new BRHS graduates (freshmen) and 39 returning students who are continuing their studies as sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students. As we have done in the past we will continue to consider late and Spring term applications.
These awards reflect the unwavering commitment of the Boothbay region community to our students’ futures. From individuals and families to local businesses and charitable foundations, every donation helps open doors for our Boothbay Region High School graduates. A special thank-you to our Named Fund donors, whose long-term gifts provide ongoing support year after year.
“Without the donors' and program's help, I would struggle to make timely payments and worry about necessities. Now that that weight is off my shoulders, I can focus harder on my studies at Wentworth Institute of Technology, pursuing my bachelor's degree in industrial design.”
This year marks an exciting new chapterfor this 60-year-old organization. We are pleased to welcome Angelo DiGiulian as our new part-time executive director. Angelo, a member of the community for 35 years, bringsmany years of nonprofit and business leadership experience and heartfelt dedication to the Boothbay region. We are also delighted to welcome Kate Winslow, our new part-time senior administrative assistant, who has already made meaningful contributions to student outreach, operations, and donor services.
We extend our gratitude to Lori Bailey, who is retiring after more than 10 years of steadfast service as BRSAF’s senior administrative assistant. Lori has been a trusted presence for students, families, and board members alike—helping shepherd BRSAF through a decade of growth and change.
We are appreciative of our current board’s ongoing commitment and outgoing board members for their generous service and guidance. Their leadership has strengthened our organization and helped ensure our mission endures.
