This month's program, starting at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14 at St. Columba Episcopal Church in Boothbay Harbor, will be presented by a representative from Chewonki, an environmental education organization located in Wiscasset.

This natural history program is titled "Owls of Maine: Habits and Adaptations of Maine's Native Owls." Participants will first learn the identifying characteristics and calls of our local owls, and then will be shown, using real talons, wings and skulls, how these birds of prey are uniquely adapted to nighttime hunting.

The highlight of the program will be a closeup look at a live owl. You don't want to miss this very special educational experience!
