Artist Nathalie Adda to exhibit work
Works by artist Nathalie Adda of South Bristol and Cambridge, MA will be on display at the Skidompha Secondhand Book Shop of Damariscotta from Friday, Oct. 24 through Sunday, Oct. 26 during the shop’s regular open hours, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During the exhibit, Adda will be at the shop on Friday from 3 to 4 and on Saturday from 1 to 3.
Adda is a self-taught artist who works across a range of media, including watercolor and acrylic painting, printmaking, outdoor wood sculpture, photography, and mobiles. She says that her artistic vision is shaped by the people and natural landscapes that surround her, infusing her pieces with a sense of connection. She has been a volunteer shopkeeper at the book shop since 2023.
In her paintings, Adda is particularly drawn to portraiture. In other works, she often incorporates driftwood and other reclaimed wood into her work. Adda has exhibited her work at community art centers in Cambridge. Her current collection features a series of recent prints created through block printing, sometimes enriched with delicate watercolor details.
The exhibit is part of the Book Shop Artists series. Several local artists are members of the shop’s all-volunteer staff. This series gives them an opportunity to show and sell their work at the shop.
