The Boothbay Region Ambulance Service (BRAS) is offering its hearty thanks to the community and a philanthropic donor who jump started a fundraising campaign for a new ambulance.

Last month, BRAS announced a matching fund challenge and that goal was met well ahead of the deadline. Thanks to the generosity and support of the community, BRAS has met the matching fund challenge of raising $50,000 which will be matched by Paul and Giselaine Coulombe providing a total of $100,000 for the new ambulance and help support its operational needs. The Coulombes have also agreed to pledge any additional funds raised above the $50,000 matching donation challenge until July 1, 2019.

As of Feb. 19, BRAS had received totaling $53,115. BRAS spokesperson Brenda Blackman said, “We are grateful to everyone who has contributed. You can and have made a difference in your life as well as the lives of others by being part of this project. At any given time, it could be you, a loved one or someone you know that may need an ambulance.”

Paul Coulombe added, “My wife and I have a strong commitment to the Boothbay Region Ambulance Service and the greater Boothbay community. Your generosity will help ensure that there is access for everyone when it’s most needed. You can always depend on the Boothbay Region Ambulance Service.”
