New boiler in the clubhouse
We had another great turnout at our February 12 meeting: 24 Lions and their guests, who came out to dine on lasagna and hear about the latest from the physical therapy department at the St. Andrews campus of LincolnHealth.
Jim Stevens, Diane Brown and Lisa Castonguay, our guest speakers this week, came out to remind us all that they're still there. The physical therapy department will be moving into the old acute care wing this May, at which time several new services will be instituted and new equipment installed. Among the items in the works: free clinics for the community for falls and concussion testing; a new space for children; a general purpose room for the community; lunch and learn sessions with guest speakers; and more. They welcome additional ideas from the community. Our thanks to Jim, Diane and Lisa for coming out to speak with us.
In other news, the Lions clubhouse has a new boiler, which was generously donated. This will help us to keep serving the community in the space you all know and love.
The club voted to make a donation to a community member who recently suffered a great loss. Remember, we accept donation requests at P.O. Box 598, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538.
Lion Gary Tilton, who was responsible for finding the new boiler, won both this week's 50/50 (which he donated back) and the cheer raffle (which he kept).
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Dinner and the main meeting will follow beginning at 6:30 p.m.
