Damariscotta author completes book one of 'Time Travel Fantasy' series
Samuel Hewson is an emerging author from Damariscotta whose passion for history, fantasy, trains, and time travel has fueled the creation of “All Aboard,” his debut novel.
After more than three years of relentless effort and imagination, Sam has completed the first volume of a sweeping time travel fantasy that blends history, mysticism, and magic into an unforgettable adventure. Told by some that he would “never” finish a book, Hewson had a determination, talent, and imagination that refused to be boxed in. “Some say autism stops people,” says Hewson. “But it’s really my superpower. I can do a lot of things at once in my head—and now I can get them on paper too.”
“This is my grand achievement,” Hewson says. “The start of my new journey. I did it, in the face of all odds. Now the hard part begins.” Editing and looking for plot holes and so on is the next step to getting the book ready for publication.
With vivid characters, deeply researched history, and a rich, lyrical style, "All Aboard" invites readers to travel not just through time, but into the heart of what it means to hope, to endure, and to create. The tale follows a mechanic from the modern day, a nobleman possessed by the soul of an ancient mage, and a mysterious boy who may hold the power to stitch, or unravel, time itself. Their journey aboard a train built from broken hours takes them across centuries, into war-torn cities, lost civilizations, and the mystical places where destiny is written and rewritten.
A celebration of imagination, resilience, and the power of story, All Aboard is more than a novel—it’s proof that the voices too often underestimated or overlooked can, and do, change the narrative. It’s a triumph of resilience, creativity, and the refusal to give up.
With Book One complete, Samuel Hewson is already planning book two.
"The Train of Broken Time" has only just begun its journey and readers will be invited to climb aboard very soon.
