Winter Market eases holiday tension
Licensed massage therapist Joel Oyer has joined the Damariscotta Winter Market on Monday afternoons at Savory Maine. Customers can enjoy a relaxing chair massage while the vendors package the night's dinner of quiche, soup, chowder, lobster torte and pie to take home to their family.
Opportunities for shopping therapy also abound at the market. Blankets, sweaters, yarn, pottery, wreaths and holiday decorations are a fixture at the market along side staples such as fresh local meats, vegetables, breads and prepared foods.
Linda Murray will be on hand toward the end of the market on December 16 to let people know about the Sierra Club activities and to encourage people to stick around for the film "Betting the Farm," which will be showing at Savory Maine after the Monday market.
The market takes place every Monday afternoon from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Savory Maine is located at 11 Water Street in Damariscotta (behind the Mediterranean Pizza Kitchen downtown). Follow the familiar yellow farmers market signs and come support local crafts, agriculture and producers.
