The local group that supplies free wood to the needy, The Woodchucks, received assistance from six inmates from Two Bridges Regional Jail in October in splitting several cords of wood.

Jesse, Matt, Chris, Ryan, Joshua and Carl worked six hours each on two consecutive Thursdays. “We really appreciated the help,” said Woodchuck member Bill Smith.

“The requests for wood is up this year so getting the hours of work from these guys has helped speed up the process.”
