Eighteen participants shook, shimmied and “zumba’ed” their hearts out at the “Shake off the Turkey” Zumbathon held at the Y to benefit the Boothbay Region Lions Club.

Five instructors donated their time to help out, including event organizer Sarah Brewer, Kathleen Lamothe, Monica Churchcill, Tim Fish and Denise Click. Karen Nickerson helped out by selling water and oranges.

“The Lions Club adopted a family this year for Christmas, and a lot of the money raised will go towards that,” Nickerson said. “It was a great event.” The Y donated the use of the gym.
