Chamber announces Harbor Lights changes
Our 28th annual Harbor Lights Festival is just around the corner on Saturday, Dec. 7.
In preparation for this annual tradition, we would like to invite you all to share in the holiday spirit and join us on the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library lawn to help decorate the trees with twinkly lights on November 20 from 10 a.m. to noon. Hot chocolate will be provided. All decorating elf volunteers will be treated to a pizza luncheon at the Chamber after decorating.
Whale Park Tree Lighting, Lap Time with Santa, Story Time: As you all know, the library is well under renovations until spring 2014. This year both “Laptime with Santa” and “Story Time” will be held at Sherman’s Books & Stationery.
The Tree Lighting and caroling will take place in the Whale Park at 4 p.m. A beautiful 12-foot tree will be decorated by our Boothbay Harbor firemen crew led by Fire Chief Nick Upham and Kim Upham, owner of Captain Sawyer’s Place.
The Boothbay Region Community Band will continue its tradition and lead the caroling at the Whale Park stage at 4 p.m. The Lighted Boat Parade will follow soon after at 5 p.m.
Here’s how you can be a part of our Community Holiday Tree: After 28 years, our Holiday Tree ornaments have begun to show wear and tear. This year, please help us make it an extra special Community Tree by donating a large-sized ornament that either represents your business or a large holiday-festive ornament. Please drop off all ornaments at the Chamber by next Wednesday, Nov. 20.
