The Carousel Music Theater is pleased to once again be hosting a special fundraising concert on Saturday, June 21 at 7 p.m. in support of Millennium Magic Chorus, a women’s barbershop and a capella chorus, traveling to the 77th Annual International Convention and Competition in Cleveland, Ohio this October.

This event showcases the spectacular talent of the 2024 Sweet Adelines International Region 1 Division A Champions and three quartets composed of members of the group. Sweet Adelines was founded 80 years ago by Edna Mae Anderson to provide a place for women to participate in barbershop harmonies. This women’s barbershop and a capella concert promises to be a captivating evening filled with beautiful harmonies and delightful performances.  With a repertoire that spans various genres and styles, the chorus will enchant the audience with their musicality, unity, and creativity. Everyone is invited to join in this celebration of music and talent. The Millennium Magic Chorus is composed of over 20 talented members from across New England and beyond, including Laura Fassett, Laura Carey, and Kirsten Russell Alfano with ties to the Boothbay region. Their passion for music and commitment to delivering memorable performances is sure to leave the audience spellbound.

In addition to the full chorus, the concert will also feature special performances from quartets within the group including VOCE (2024 - 9th place at International competition), Maine Squeeze (2025 - 3rd place Regional I quartet), and Synchrony (2024 - 5th place Regional quartet). These talented ensembles will provide additional entertainment and showcase the depth of talent within the Millennium Magic Chorus.
