White Christmas sing-a-long and other classic holiday programs
The holidays are just around the corner, and Lincoln Theater is delighted to roll out a festive lineup filled with music, movies, and live theater. From cherished classics to family favorites, this year’s programming offers something for everyone looking to share in the joy of the season.
The celebration begins on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. with “The Met Live in HD: Holiday Encore – The Magic Flute.” This abridged, English-language version of Mozart’s beloved opera holds a special place in Met history as the very first Live in HD broadcast in 2006. It makes for a perfect holiday outing—playful, colorful, and filled with wonder. And at 90 minutes, it’s a perfect opera for all ages.
Next, the theater invites the community to raise their voices at a special sing-a-long screening of “White Christmas” on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. With lyrics on screen and all your favorite songs—from “Snow” to “Sisters” to Bing Crosby’s iconic “White Christmas,” this event brings families and friends together in the spirit of nostalgia, laughter, and pure holiday cheer.
The fun continues Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. with a screening of the beloved 1983 comedy “A Christmas Story.” Join Ralphie Parker in his quest for the perfect gift—a Red Ryder air rifle—and relive the many misadventures, warm moments, and classic lines that have made this film a seasonal tradition for generations. “You’ll shoot your eye out!”
Closing out the holiday slate, Lincoln County Community Theater (LCCT) is thrilled to present a live production of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” by Barbara Robinson. 30 community members take the stage for three performances, Friday, Dec. 19 and Saturday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. All tickets are $10 with 50% of all ticket sales will be donated to the Ecumenical Food Pantry serving the residents of Damariscotta, Newcastle, Nobleboro, and the larger community.
Lincoln Theater is proud to be a gathering place for neighbors, families, and friends during the holidays and all year long. We look forward to welcoming you, sharing the warmth of the season, and celebrating together in the glow of the big screen and the joy of live storytelling.
