"The Odyssey" - (R; 2 hours, 53 minutes) - Odysseus, King of Ithaca (Matt Damon), embarks on a perilous journey to return home after the Trojan War. Crossing the Mediterranean Sea with his fellow soldiers, they soon find themselves battling not only the elements, but an array of deadly obstacles and mythical creatures along the way. "Outsider" - (NR; 40 minutes) - Free - Audience Award Winner for Best Short Film at the Montclair Film Festival! Outsider presents a rarely seen, candid view of a family's journey with mental illness and captures how art has the profound ability to sustain a life. The film chronicles late painter Maury Ornest, who lived a life shaped by both triumph and struggle, always returning to creativity as a source of meaning. Following the screening we will have a panel including Dr. Cynthia Sortwell, artist Eric Hopkins, and Laura Ornest, Maury’s sister. Maury Ornest's paintings are on display for sale in the Lincoln Theater lobby with a portion of the proceeds supporting Lincoln Theater. "Tony" - (R; 1 hour, 46 minutes) - A 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain (Dominic Sessa) travels to Provincetown and stumbles into the chaotic world of a restaurant kitchen, setting off a summer that will shape the course of his life. Playing Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 at 1 and 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 1 and 7 p.m. and Thursday, Sept 17 at 1 and 7 p.m. Presented in partnership with Rising Tide Co-Op.

AUDITIONS - "The Inn At Little Bethlehem"

Lincoln County Community Theatre (LCCT) is excited to be holding open auditions for the world premiere of our new holiday comedy The Inn at Little Bethlehem. Auditions will take place in Porter Hall at Skidompha Library in Damariscotta. This show is destined to be a highlight of midcoast Maine's 2026 holiday season and everyone is invited to audition. The play was written by Damariscotta resident and playwright Ron Capps and is being directed at Lincoln Theatre by Boothbay’s Soren Barker with Waldoboro’s George Bates producing.

We are casting four male-presenting, three female-presenting, and two any gender roles. Auditioners are encouraged to reserve an audition time in advance, either on Sunday Sept. 13 from 2 to 5 p.m., or Monday Sept. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. Please prepare a 1-minute comedic monologue (memorization not required). Cold readings from the play may follow. Sides will not be available in advance. Please bring a list of known conflicts between late September and end of run. Performances will be on December 11-13 and 18 - 20. Rehearsals begin in late September.

"Jessica Lahey, Author: The Gift of Failure" - Free - Join Lincoln Academy as they welcome Jessica Lahey for a special presentation at Lincoln Theater. This groundbreaking manifesto focuses on the critical school years when parents must learn to allow their children to experience the disappointment and frustration that occur from life’s inevitable problems so that they can grow up to be successful, resilient, and self-reliant adults.

Modern parenting is defined by an unprecedented level of overprotectiveness: parents who rush to school at the whim of a phone call to deliver forgotten assignments, who challenge teachers on report card disappointments, mastermind children’s friendships, and interfere on the playing field.

As teacher and writer Jessica Lahey explains, even though these parents see themselves as being highly responsive to their children’s well being, they aren’t giving them the chance to experience failure—or the opportunity to learn to solve their own problems. This is a free event, Monday, Sept 14 at 6 p.m. Presented by Lincoln Academy in partnership with AOS 93, Great Salt Bay School, and Johns Bay districts.
