“Sing Sing” - (R; 1 hour, 47 minutes) - Divine G (Colman Domingo), imprisoned at Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, finds purpose by acting in a theatre group alongside other incarcerated men, including a wary newcomer (Clarence Maclin), in this stirring true story of resilience, humanity, and the trans-formative power of art, starring an unforgettable ensemble cast of formerly incarcerated actors. Final show Thursday, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m.
Trusted Sources & Panel Discussion with Local Media (NR; 1 hour, 6 minutes) - As small town news outlets are closing at a rate of two per week, a case for why it is critical to stem the flow of shut downs is made by Don Colacino in his documentary, “Trusted Sources,” released on June 1 2024. We are proud to present the first public theatrical screeninig of this game changing film. An introduction to the film will be presented by Sharon Contillo, President of Women in Film. After the film, film critic, Christine Merser, from Screen Thoughts, will do a Q&A with our local newspapers panelists, John C. Roberts of The Lincoln County News, Frederick Freudenberger of The Boothbay Register, Jules Walkup of The Bangor Daily News, and Judy Meyer of The Lewiston Sun Journal. “Singin’ in the Rain” - (1952; 1 hour, 42 minutes) - Film #1 in Lincoln Theater’s Classic Film Club “Lights, Cameras, Classics.” Gene Kelly headlines this look at Hollywood’s transition from silents to talkies. Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds team with Gene for fancy footwork, while Jean Hagen is hilarious in her Oscar-nominated performance. Film historian and CFC host, Jeannie MacDonald, for a pre-film introduction and post-screening talkback.
