"The Magic Faraway Tree" - (PG; 1 hour, 50 minutes) - Adapted from Enid Blyton's beloved classic novel The Magic Faraway Tree, the film centers on Polly (Claire Foy), Tim (Andrew Garfield), and their three children -- a modern family forced to relocate to the remote English countryside. As they adapt to their new lives, the children discover a magical tree and its extraordinary and eccentric residents, including treasured characters Moonface (Nonso Anozie), Silky (Nicola Coughlan), Dame Washalot (Jessica Gunning), and Saucepan Man (Dustin Demri-Burns). At the top of the tree, they are transported to spectacular, fantastical lands, and through the joys and challenges of their adventures, the family learns to reconnect and value each other for the first time in years. "Spark" - Free documentary and panel discussion - Boothbay Region High School's ADPTT environmental group premiers their new documentary Spark which chronicles the group’s efforts to understand the climate science behind the cancellation of the 2025 Homecoming Bonfire. Throughout the year, they interviewed experts from the United States Geological Survey, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the Maine Forest Service to find out more about drought in Maine and its impact. 

Members of last year’s group researching and creating the film are Ally Ryan (Club Advisor), Stacy Gauthier (Club Advisor), Addie Barter, Class of 2028, Olivia Carlson (2028), Maggie Curtis (2028), Natalie Flagg (2028), Maggie McCarthy (2029), Audrey Robinson (2029), Allison Smart (2028), Elijah Smith (2028), Moriah Smith (2028), Zuriel Smith (2028). Students, families, friends and the public are invited to the film’s premiere and a panel discussion with the filmmakers on Monday evening, Sept. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Free admission and free popcorn for all!

Harbor Theater has returned to winter hours with shows are at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with matinees at 2 p.m. only on Wednesday (OCAP – Open Caption Screening) and Sunday. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children under 18. Member prices are $8 for adults and $6 for children under 18. ADA-mandated Audio Descriptive (AD) and Closed Caption (CC) devices are available for visually and hearing-impaired guests; inquire at the concession stand.
