Tissue paper collage with Deb Arter

“Letting Loose with Tissue and Glue: Diving into Translucent Collage” is the next and last class offered this summer by the Maine Art Gallery on Tuesday, Aug. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the gallery. Long-time popular art teacher Debra Arter will explore with students the variety of expressive possibilities inherent in tissue paper collage. Each participant will make at least three different collages.
Arter has been a signature member of the National Collage Society for many years. Her work has appeared in Somerset Studio magazine, poetry journals, Dana Farber Holiday cards and the official Union Fair Poster. She holds a BA and MFA in Fine Arts and has taught adults for over 25 years.
The class is held in conjunction with the current “Art of Alchemy: Mixed Media and Collage” exhibition at the gallery. The registration deadline for this class is Friday, Aug. 14. Please visit the gallery website under “Classes” for more details and to sign up.
