Aldous Huxley wrote: “Reality cannot be ignored except at a price; and the longer the ignorance is persisted in, the higher and more terrible becomes the price that must be paid.”

Huxley was part of the aptly-named “Lost Generation,” deeply scarred by the world-changing effects of the incredibly savage and senselessly bloody World War One. I wonder what he would think about all the craziness in today’s Europe, especially in his UK.

All this increasingly crazy stuff going on reminds me of the 1966 French movie “King of Hearts,” which brilliantly posed the question: Who is crazier, the asylum inmates or the battlefield soldiers

Think about how crazy it was to empty all the insane asylums, and how crazy it now is to want to empty all the prisons, and pretend that men can be women by simply saying so. And that is just a small sampling.

I am beginning to think that this is all a make-believe game of “who can come up with the next completely crazy idea.”

“King of Hearts” is a great movie, but the horror flick we are now trapped in is getting really, really scary, and the end is nowhere in sight.
