Taste of Local Flavor kicked off Harbor Fest Aug. 30 with Taka Mediterranean Bar and Grill, Pier 1 Pizza and Mine Oyster, all of Boothbay Harbor. Each submitted a tasting and cocktail for the first Harbor Fest guests and provided music by Ben Betts, Sean McNear and The Crown Vics, respectively.

Closing out the month of August, Saturday was the big day for a Taste of Local Flavor with nine local restaurants joining the competition for  Best Bite and Best Cocktail: Fisherman’s Wharf Inn, Tugboat, Blue Moon Cafe, Harborside Tavern, Boathouse Bistro, Caper’s Deli, Boothbay Harbor Inn, Whale’s Tale/Carousel Marina, and the Boothbay Lobster Wharf. Most locations had musician/singers performing adding a festive touch to the day’s travels ‘round town.

Sunday was the last day of Taste of Local Flavor which saw Kaler’s Restaurant and The Thistle Inn lead the day off. Second day returners Boothbay Lobster Wharf and Whale’s Tale/Carousel Marina continued the fun with Cod’s Head rounding out the evening fun.
