Sunny days

Wed, 05/10/2023 - 9:00am

If you want to photograph or just look at the Virginia without the cover it had on this winter in Wiscasset, by the time you read this you may still be able to, before it returns to Bath a little later than first planned. And if you miss it in Wiscasset, plans call for all to have a chance to behold “Maine’s First Ship” at Windjammer Days.

Living near enough the water to enjoy, or drive to and enjoy, such sights and others, like a duck family or human paddlers, is one of the special things about the Midcoast. If we must have the winters, we get to have all of this sunshine, water and more, for these precious other months.

So glad we got most of the wet, gray weather out of the way. That was too long without the sun and the blue, and a wind that is welcome instead of raw.

Week’s positive parting thought: If you have a favorite local setting that means spring to you, please consider sharing it with us to share in print and/or online. Send pics in their original, largest size to pix@wiscassetnewspaper.com or pix@boothbayregister.com
