St. Giles annual Country Fair promises to be a day of fun for old and young
Be sure to attend the St. Giles Episcopal Church Fair Saturday, July 25, under the tall pines on the church grounds in Jefferson. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a live auction at 11 a.m.
Among the items up for bid will be a large mounted moose head, a child’s stroller, a large dog crate, and more. If anyone has items in good condition they would like to contribute to the auction, please call 207 882-7060.
There will also be a raffle of items from local merchants.
Parishioners will offer homemade jams and jellies, baked items, and plants, at the church’s traditional country cupboard booth, and of course, there will be the traditional sale of homemade pies.
Special children’s activities, including a hobby horse race and a fishing game, will be hosted by Giles, the church’s very own stuffed mouse. All children’s games are free.
For lunch, parishioners will be offering hot dogs on the grill, chips, soft drinks and coffee.
In addition, many local vendors have reserved tables to display their wares. There are still a few spots open. A space including an 8-foot table will be provided for a fee of $25. To reserve a space, call 207 242-2262.
The fair is a fundraiser that generates money for the church and its outreach programs and agencies, including the Jefferson Area Community Food Pantry and Maine’s Home for Little Wanderers.
So mark your calendar for July 25. It is always a fun time to come together, enjoy each other’s company, support the church, and shop for unique items made by local artisans and crafters.
St. Giles is located at 72 Gardiner Road (Route 126) in Jefferson.
