As we headed into Fourth of July weekend, cottages were full and boats were bustling around the harbor. On Friday afternoon, there was no better place to be than on the water for the Hendricks Head Open. With a 4:30 start, the races finished up just as a stunning sunset was taking hold over the Sheepscot. Results are as follows: Race 1: Draco 1st place, Oranje 2nd place, Eiderdown 3rd place. Race 2: Oranje 1st place (by 4 seconds corrected time), Draco 2nd place, Eiderdown 3rd place.

Eleven boats brought their finest red, white and blue sails out for Saturday’s Firecracer Turnabout race. Results are as follows: After three races, the results were:

Kids Division: 1st Place: Nate Phippen in The Falcon, 2nd Place Paige Smith and Sabrina Moen in Firecracker, 3rd Place: James Allison and Chapman Brinegar in Pink Racer / Blue Cruzer.

Adults Division: 1st Place: Chris Jacobs in Jacobs Blue, 2nd Place: Lowell Watson in Zumblezay, 3rd Place: Nancy Custer Carroll and Jeremiah Carroll in Seahorse. Next up is the Norma Smith Turbabout race on Saturday, July 11 at 1 p.m.

We are excited to bring back Yoga at SYC! Come on down to the Jr. Building on Friday mornings from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Bring a mat, $20 cash or Venmo, and come early to sign a waiver on the first day.

No Bicycle or Regime Dificile est necessaire…Join Team Vino – Jack Bauman, Anne Maurer and Janet Duchaine – for SYC’s very own “Petit Tour de France” on Saturday, July 11, commencing at 5:30 p.m. Samplings from six acclaimed regions – Loire Valley, Rhone Valley,Chablis, Burgundy, Provence and Bordeaux. Tous sera magnifique! Please bring an appetizer and a wine glass.
