Two East Boothbay property owners got a big thumbs up from a neighbor for a plan to improve their Lincoln Street property. On Sept. 19, the Boothbay Planning Board unanimously approved Stephen Davis’ and Michelle Imhoff’s plan to enclose an existing 11 by 16 foot deck and build another 11 by 16 foot deck nearby on the non-comforming 14 Lincoln St. property. The owners also plan to buy an L-shaped adjacent parcel  to conform with existing setback requirements.

The proposal was embraced by abutter Nat Wilson who urged board members to approve it. Wilson has lived on Lincoln Street for 39 years. He described his  neighbors’ plan as one which will create more available parking and improve the neighborhood’s appearance. “I have no objections and think this is something that needs to be done,” Wilson said. “This will get parking off the street which is needed especially in the winter. It will also greatly improve the  street’s overall appearance.”

The board also unanimously approved Peter and Diane Troy’s request to turn a 12 by 30 foot deck at their 182 King Phillips Trail property into a livable space. The couple lives in South Chatham, Massachusetts. Eric Marden represented the couple during the board meeting.

The board meets next at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 in the municipal building’s conference room.
