Dear Editor:

This is not about immigration. Law enforcement is law enforcement. Lincoln is not a sanctuary county.

Our sheriff’s office will now end cooperation with Federal Immigration Customs Enforcement.

Official law enforcement needs to end petty grudges and hatred for Trump and show Mainers it will do everything possible to fight crime throughout our beloved home.

ICE agents are, as are Lincoln County deputies, hard working, honest, self sacrificing servants of good. Dangerous criminals must be removed from our streets.

We are all Americans, we all share the same conviction to serve and seek truth and liberty.

Please sheriff, you are greatly admired around here. Please think again. Thank you.
