Mid Coast expands rheumatology care

    Mid Coast Hospital welcomes Saskia Cooper, MD, to its active medical staff and the Mid Coast Medical Group–Rheumatology practice. Dr. Cooper joins Diana Vradii, MD, in providing expert care for a range of musculoskeletal, autoimmune, joint, and muscle disorders.

    They are available to diagnose and provide ongoing therapy and treatment for complex diseases caused by inflammation of the body's connective tissue. Common diseases treated include rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, gout, lupus, osteoarthritis (or degenerative arthritis), inflammatory muscle disease, and numerous others.

    Board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, Dr. Cooper earned her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, Connecticut, followed by a residency at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. She completed a fellowship in Rheumatology at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
