‘Love and Lasagna’ gifted to 80 Southport residents

Love filled the air on Southport when Southport Island Association (SIA), Southport General Store, Sweet Dreams Bakery, and the kids at Southport Central School teamed up to bring the community complimentary Valentines suppers “to go” on Valentine’s Day.

The event was a big hit during Covid and SIA decided to offer the event again and see if the community had interest. The “sold out” supper was picked up at the town hall or delivered to the residents.

Long time resident Isabel Maziarz picked up meals for her neighbors and thanked the newest SIA Board member, Eden Climo, for the generosity. Working on the project were Sandra Seifert, Eden Climo, Pam Baldwin, Maddie Kaler, Angus Kaler, Laura Blake, Ashlea Tibbetts, Nancy Long, Marie Kelly and Alice Mutch.

The food was great, but the biggest gift was the Valentines cards from the children at Southport school.

Events like these have been made possible by generous anonymous donors who gave freely to make the community maintain its spirits during Covid.
