J. Edward Knight Insurance Agency is pleased to announce the addition of Don Legere as an insurance agent.

With decades of experience in insurance, business leadership, and community service, Legere will focus on supporting and developing commercial insurance accounts while serving as a resource for both clients and the agency’s internal team.

Legere brings extensive experience in property and casualty insurance, including more than 15 years as an independent agent advising commercial clients. He previously served as president and owner of Blake, Hall & Sprague, Inc. in South Portland. During his career, he also worked as an account executive in employee benefits. In recent years, Legere served in leadership roles and as a high school mathematics teacher within Maine school systems. His career reflects a consistent focus on mentorship, problem solving, and building strong relationships.

At J. Edward Knight Insurance, Legere will work closely with the agency’s team to strengthen its commercial insurance offerings, assist with complex accounts, and continue developing client relationships.

Legere holds a bachelor of science in insurance from the University of Rhode Island and a master of science in teacher leadership from the University of Southern Maine, along with numerous professional certifications and licenses in insurance and education.

Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in civic and community organizations across Maine, including serving on numerous municipal boards, chambers of commerce, and advisory committees in South Portland and the greater Portland region.

Outside of work, Legere enjoys spending time with his family and being on the water in around Boothbay Harbor and Casco Bay. His long history of volunteerism and public service reflects a deep commitment to the communities he serves.
