Dear Editor:

This past Sunday, the Lady Seahawks basketball team helped raise over $2,300 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Maine. The “Hoop Buffet For The MDA” was a smashing success due in large part to Ralph Smith of McSeagull’s.

Every Sunday, McSeagull’s holds its Reggae Brunch featuring music from Dave and Chris Gagne. Ralph was generous enough to help morph the regularly scheduled affair into a fundraiser for MDA. Thanks so much to Ralph, Elena and the McSeagull’s crew for helping put on a great event for a great cause.

Also, thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Feldman of The Welch House, “Mom” & Kitty, and Grover’s Hardware for donating door prizes.

I personally would like to thank the Lady Seahawks players for giving their time on a pretty Sunday afternoon. It’s a privilege as a student-athlete to be in position to give back and help make a difference. In my book, we ended the season with a big win!
