Hinckley, Yereance honored at final home match
Boothbay Region High School boys tennis coach Mark Gorey had kind words to say about his two senior co-captains before their final regular season home match on Tuesday, May 19 against North Yarmouth Academy. As Harry Hinckley and Griffin Yereance were introduced, the players presented carnations to those representing them on the BRHS tennis court.
"They have both been fine leaders for the team," said Gorey.
Hinckley is the son of Amy Harkins and Gary Hinckley. He played three years of varsity tennis – missing his freshman year due to a hand injury, “but he came to every practice anyway,” said Gorey. He will be attending Maine Maritime Academy in Castine next year where he will be studying marine transportation operations.
Yereance is the son of Katie and Scott Yereance. He is a four-year starter at singles and has amassed one of the top winning percentages in BRHS boys tennis history. He will be attending Susquehanna University next year where he plans to play on its Division 3 tennis team. He will be studying entrepreneurship and corporate innovation.
