‘Herbs for Stressful Times’ at next Boothbay Region Garden Club meeting
Melanie Scofield, director of the Earthwalk School of Herbal Traditions, will be presenting at the next monthly meeting of the Boothbay Region Garden Club on Wednesday, May 14 at approximately 1:30 p.m. at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church (32 Emery Lane, Boothbay Harbor). The public is invited to join us for refreshments which will be served at 1 p.m.
Melanie will be presenting “Pollinator Pathways: Improving Biodiversity in our own Yards.” According to Melanie, “These are stressful times we’re living in. For many of us, there is a lot of uncertainty around the economic and socio/political landscape. The world is in a state of intense conflict and rapid change and it doesn’t appear to be resolving anytime soon. It may not be a good time to watch the news, but it is a great time to shift our attention to our mental and physical well-being, to our communities, and to plants!
In this short class, Melanie will be discussing a class of herbs known as Nervines- beneficial herbs for the nervous system. Join Melanie for a slideshow on some plants that we can add to our gardens that can be harvested to make teas, tinctures, and more. Your nervous system will thank you!
Please join us for this impactful - and much needed - presentation!
