Fundraiser for Center successful
Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Community Center, I thank all who helped make our "1776" movie event on July 1 successful.
Your support will help us continue the programs that benefit the community -- the volunteer drivers taking folks to medical appointments, the 911 reflective signs that direct first responders to emergencies, and our medical equipment program that last year provided more than 600 pieces of equipment to area residents. All while we also provide a safe and welcoming gathering space to fight the effects of isolation.
Some of you joined us by purchasing tickets. Others joined us in spirit, contributing your time and energy. Specifically, we thank Lynn Thompson, Harbor Theater executive director and her staff, Social Graze Charcuterie, Colonial Maine Living History Association, Russell Pinkham of Pinkham's Gourmet Seafood, Bob Drury of St. Andrews Village, Connie Heroy who helped us with ticket sales, and the Boothbay Register for providing information for the public. And, of course, our Community Center volunteers who show up day after day to help us serve our neighbors.
