Free shredding event Sept. 13
Trying to clean up unwanted paper around your home or office? This weekend may be your chance. The town of Boothbay Harbor is hosting a free shredding event Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the public works building (133 Middle Road).
Shredding will be done on the premises by Shredding on Site, which said it can shred any paper products, including spam mail and scrap paper, not just sensitive documents. In addition, they said all shredded material will be recycled.
Individuals can bring a maximum of five boxes of material, but empty boxes, containers, or plastic bags will not be accepted after shredding is complete. Magazines are also discouraged. However, binder clips, paperclips, and other small fasteners under half an inch don't have to be removed.
